I watch this with my kids, and I have to say
that I completely love it. I love that they have a running storyline in each show (usually between Electric Company and the Pranksters). I also love how they break each segment up with the "electric grid." I think they do a great job with teaching children the various phonetic rules (bossy r, soft and hard g, soft and hard c, etc.), but in a fun way. My son does not completely love all of the singing clips, but he does love the storyline. I think the 70s version was fine in the 70s, but I really think that kids today would not get it. I did grow up in the 70s, but for some reason, the other Electric Company freaked me out. (I think it was the Spidey clips--I just remember a queen bee plot, the yeti who wanted to get cold, and a man who could freeze people with his face. Anyone remember those?) Just have to say again how much I love this one.
