This show is good!

C'mon people relax. The 70's EC was a different show for a different time which I'm sure was stated a bunch of times already (I apologize for not scrolling through every single thread to see if it was). I don't think my kids would like the original version as much. Face it, life is different now.
Here's a question for the naysayers: When we were kids (us 40-ish peeps) do you think any of us would have ever sat through some kids' show from the 50's? Or the 40's? That's what watching the great original EC of the 70's would be like for our kids today.
Plus the lessons they teach are good, the songs are well-written so they stick in your kids' (and your own) heads. My kids are actually learning from this show while being entertained.
And that Danny dude is funny. He should be on more.

- Oh, the usual. I bowl. Drive around. The occasional acid flashback.

I'm a little bit more resonable about this stuff, though it does seem to be a bit goofy and dumbed down. At least when it comes to the silly story lines which are just stupid.

Think perhaps in that sense they maybe expecting to little from the audience.

I think it's a great show, probably the most entertaining kids' show on pbs. Now, I'll admit I didn't grow up on the original Electric Company, and maybe that's why I like this one. I'm sure all the actors on this show are very sorry they aren't the original electric company frozen in time </sarcasm.> The fact is, this show stands up very well all by itself. The characters are engaging, the storylines are funny and silly, and the skits in between are neat. I was genuinely surprised to see so much hate on this board. Yeesh people, give them a break! They can't help it if they're completely different people and therefore ruining the show in your eyes. If the only thing that's good enough is to not have the show at all, you have some problems.

Down here in North Carolina, they show it midday so I catch it on my off days. I think it's pretty entertaining and well made. I'm a native New Yorker too but I've been down here a couple of years and I love seeing the city in the show. It's a much different feel than the 70's series but that's not a bad thing. It's just a remix.

Still got my fingers crossed, waiting for Judas Contract to get green-lit

the electric company remake is cute fun and hiliarous but the original show is the best in my opinon the remake has cheesy writing and reminds me of a show about a group of kids who solve crimes with the help of a ghost who can only communicate by words!!!

i like it. It was a lot of fun. I never realized what a silent e did. before watching this show. It was cool knowing that a lot of the people in the show are now on Broadway.
