I didn't understand the Code thing. C.C. wanted to die therefore she needed a predecessor right? She stole her own Code and was... imprisoned inside her memories?
Why did she regain her memories when Anya appeared?
Wasn't she supposed to die when her Code was removed?

She chose to hide inside her memories and to not die. It's a bit complex and hard to follow but yeah.

Also Anya was actually lelouch's mom who also had Geass and knew CC and went inside CC's memories to bring her out sort of.
