Why do people hate R2 so much?

I noticed that a lot of people hate the second season and it saddens me because i really like it so far. I'm about 4 episodes in and already like Rolo he's pretty interesting. So why all the hate on season 2?

The plot of R1 is basically ruined during R2. The sad thing is that R2's first half wasn't so bad, not close to R1 but not too bad, but the second half of R2 quickly dissolves into a major train wreck.

Thanks for explaining i'll have to see what i think for myself.

let us know what you think! (i was darklink12 btw, i accidentally deleted my account lol)

i love r1 and r2 but its all a matter of opinion. i dont think people like how r2 developed and how it over all ended imo.

Maybe because lelouch dies at the end.

lelouch doesnt necessarily die though, its really left up to interpretation, i however; believe he died

Thanks for the spoiler, I came here simply to see if it was worth my time.

I'm new to this show and I just finished. I think the second season is superior, a hell of a lot darker, and things go from bad to horribly worse and the way it's clever enough to have a great ending demonstrates that it is superior.

But that's just me.

Stop reading boards of a show you haven't seen and then whine about spoilers, you delusional person.

Season 2 is not bad, it is just very sloppy in areas, with some loose ends left as well. At least it is largely redeemed with the last episode. For example (read when you've seen it all) :
1. Why have people somehow turned bulletproof all of a sudden, when in R1 they were easily killed?

2. What on Earth happened to V.V.? Did the screenwriters... forget him? It is sort of suggested that he died, but how did that happen if he was immortal? The only one who could kill him was Emperor Charles, but that is never even hinted at all. So, what happened to him?

3. Oghi had 3 or 4 knives land inside his chest and belly, then we see Viletta jump to save him after he -presumably- falls to his death, then cut, and then... we see him perfectly fine and well on their ship, firmly on his two feet as if nothing happened at all. Without any hint of his potentially fatal injuries. What the heck? Did they hire a new writer who did not even care to watch the previous episode?
