The Wolf of Wall Street stole the owl joke from Heat.

The Wolf of Wall Street stole the owl joke from Heat. It feels more like a rip-off than homage. It's pretty sad how nobody remembers it from Heat, yet everyone remembers from The Wolf of Wall Street, and thinks it's original.

Yes you are correct, Al Pacino in Heat said that to his informant. Whether Scorsese got that joke from Heat isn't entirely clear however.

Something else Scorsese recycled is in Goodfellas, The Departed and Wolf Of Wall Street there is a scene where a character wants another character to give him "the f-cking money" (haven't seen Casino but I wouldn't be surprised if there was a similar scene in that film as well)

That's a very basic joke, dude. Not an important point to make.

Actually I take that back, that joke goes back at least as far as the 1950's as it was used in an episode of I Love Lucy

Same thing with “how do you like them apples”...straight from John Wayne and not Matt Damon...hell, maybe even even John Wayne stole it from the silent era..

This movie didn't steal anything from any other movies since this film accurately portrays Jordan Belforts real life account. Thats what his wife said to him at the time of their argument. And since the events of this movie took place before the movie Heat, theres no way they were able to steal it.
