The sex scenes in this are unlike anything before in a mainstream movie right?
Wrong.
But now in this world we live where hard corn porn is available at the click of a button (in maybe the last 10 or so years?) its made 'soft' porn more acceptable so can now be in mainstream movies without much censorship?
Prior to the PG-13 rating, most "teenage" comedies were R rated. Porky's, The Last American Virgin, Private School. Even some PG-13 movies showed full frontal nudity - The Woman In Red, Doc Hollywood,
I think the opposite has been true. Studios have found they make most of their money from teenagers who go see movies. Since the parents often have to (or choose to) go with them, there is no reason to add nudity to the movie and get it an R rating. Less teens would be able to see it and parents wouldn't take them.
So, IMO, all you are getting is the "shock" of an R rated movie actually having a lot of full nudity in it like they used to as opposed to a few shots of a woman's breasts or rear-end.
