This movie betrayed me... I feel lied to

So this movie was advertised as Jason Bourne: XX Puberty Edition.

I was expecting a little girl to go around killing and outsmarting people and doing it in a silently sassy and intelligently stylish way. Unfortunately, what the movie ended up being was some indie, hipster-folksy, existential crap wrapped around a potentially cool spy thriller.

Like the entire middle part of this movie was indie trash.

The first 15 or so minutes were brilliant. It reminded me of the first 20 or so minutes of Riddick. But what the heck is up with these movies seemingly losing focus and then meandering the rest of the way through until the credits roll?

My biggest gripe was the inconsistency with the characters. Eric was always warning Hanna about being alert and aware of her surroundings. Forcing her to adapt and be ready at all times. so WTF was up with him being clumsy and sloppy at the end other than to serve as a reason to kill him off?

If this movie had just cut down most of the worthless middle parts and gutted the indie-hipster stuff like Hanna gutted that moose, and stuck with the concepts they originally introduced it could have been cool.

But I didn't sign up for indie-hipster stuff – if I wanted to see that I would have purposefully sought out an indie-hipster flick... Or maybe... maybe they just advertised it wrong and I got suckered into a movie I thought was going to be about a badarse little girl going Jason Bourne on bad guys.

Anyway, this movie betrayed me... I felt lied to.

I took his death by Marissa as a sacrifice move, which gave Hanna more time to regroup.

What the fkn unholy *beep* does 'hipster' mean?

I think this movie's symbolism went over the heads of many viewers. A different thread mentions the fairy tale subtext in the movie, which is perfect. My spouse and I got a definite European film vibe from this movie, which is why it probably didn't work for some. (This is the only explanation I could come up with.)

I disagree as I liked it.

Um....OP....It was a Reindeer, not a Moose. They were in Finland, Finland does have Moose, but she gutted a reindeer my friend.

I get the critique you have, I had the same expectations as you, I was all excited about watching a good action flick, after I had seen the trailer, but no we didn't get that. I did find the fairy tale subtext interesting, but when your been promised something else because of the marketing this movie had, I was disappointed. Like if you think it's red wine in a glass, and it's cola you are going to be disappointed, eventhough you normally like cola, you had expected something else.
