Bad Germans

I hate how the germans are portayed in this movies. Sure, they are bad guys, but do they have too look like friggin' Neonazis?

Wasn't Eric Bana's character supposed to be German? The real bad guy (or gal in this case) was American.

They WERE Neo-Nazis. And this goes back to WWII where the Nazis were trying to create the "perfect" race with blue eyes and blonde hair. Hanna definitely had the hair. Same thing with the psycho blonde guy.

reply

Laughable germans. Why did the blonde one have to be so camp? Every scene he was in he ruined it.

reply

He was a strange character

reply

Ex-Stasi, nobody likes them. They were the worst that Nazi Germany and Soviet Bloc DDR could produce.

reply

They were actually skin heads, not necessarily neo-nazis. Did anything in the movie hint at their political viewpoint?

The director says in the interviews on the Blu-Ray (and the audio commentary) that the appearance of Tom Hollanders character and his "gang" was based on 1980s London yobs, so no ties to German neo-nazis.
