Smoking

What I disliked about this movie was that EVERYONE smoked all the time! They all were chain smokers. Being an American and someone who hates smoking, that part really bothered me. I mean, the whole damned family smoked and smoked and smoked! Maybe Europeans don't find it repulsive, but when they did away with it in our movies, I was all for it. To me, it's a disgusting and repulsively stinking habit. Both of my parents died horrible deaths due to smoking. I'm an only child who has never had a cigarette in my mouth but have breathing and lung problems thanks to the second hand smoke I was forced to breathe when I was growing up. I've been to England, Ireland, and most of the Bavarian countries and never saw anyone smoking as much as these people did. Is this a France thing?

I suggest you do not watch the movie "Thank You for Not Smoking" or the movie "Coffee and Cigarettes".

Other than people smoking was there anything else in the movie to capture your attention?

I hope you feel better now but diatribes like yours convince no one. Rather you come across as a crashing bore.

I don't know everything. Neither does anyone else

The French are known for smoking. Recently Deneuve attended some movie gala and was allowed to smoke(which was actually a no no in that building for decades).
