Are there only French dysfunctional family dramas?

We watched it last night expecting a Christmas movie, but it has absolutely nothing to do with xmas. The title is very misleading.

Could somebody please be so kind and suggest a few "normal" French movies without stories about dysfunctional families?
Something nice and uplifting for a change.
It's either comedy or drama, nothing in-between.

I love French thrillers like "Tell No One", "Five Miles to Midnight" (1964) and "Les passagers" (Trintignant, 1977), but haven't seen a really good one this year.

Le Samourai (1967), Les Diaboliques (1955), and if you want a Christmas comedy thriller, 8 femmes (2002)

Thank you, we already have watched all three. They are indeed very good!
Last night we finished watching "For a Woman" (Pour une femme) which was better than what we've watched over the past months. I can highly recommend it. It's a WW II drama and also taking place in the 1980's.

I understand the movie wasn't what you expected, but yeesh, not every movie involving Christmas has to be some wholesome Disney-type holiday celebration. Families get together over Christmas, and some (many) families are dysfunctional. Should this movie have come with a "trigger warning" for you?

My Fathers Glory, My Mothers Castle

It's on my list to watch it as a part of different kinds of Christmas films, I'm going through this list http://blog.cinemaparadiso.co.uk/13-films-to-watch-this-christmas/

Not sure now, but regarding your question... there are dysfunctional families everywhere you look. It's a turnaround from thrillers but did you see original Taxi films? It's a comedy, but it's perfect to relax during Christmastime.
