end of movie....(spoilers)

it was a pretty good story and movie(though they did a lot of really dumb stuff. who throws snowballs at each other when your in below freezing weather trying to survive?)

the one big thing that annoyed me at the end was, when they were rescued it was on Christmas day, and then in the next scene it says "Christmas day" and they are just coming home(from hospital?). they are completely healed and fine like they were in the hospital for weeks or months. WTF!? it has only been a few hours since they were rescued and they come home like they were in the hospital for months. how did they mess that up!?!? maybe if it was the following Christmas for the next year, but it wasn't. what a complete mess up that ending was.

yea that bugged me too. like how thier faced were all cleard up, no frostbite, or whatever it was.

but what really buged me was when jim fell asleep when they thoguth they got to the oversight or whatever its called, and how he falls asleep with his glove off, and when they wake up, to start the fire, his hand wasnt frozen or anythign, and had no problem moving it.

but its hollywood, you just have to go along with it "/

I just watched this last night and they were rescued on Dec 24th. It appears that they spent about 24 hours in the hospital. Maybe the hospital just slathered them with expensive face cream and lip balm to heal them up so fast.

They both had a glove off and I too was surprised that neither of them had any problems using a match with those bare hands.

On the other hand, it's a lifetime movie and I don't watch them for the technical brilliance.

This is a movie and certain liberties are taken to fit the important facts into a 90 or 120 minute movie. So as far as only being in the hospital overnight...who knows....but it is possible. They were a relatively young, healthy couple. It wouldn't take long to asses their level of frostbite and treat the areas quickly. I'm sure they were given IV fluids and of course food and could be sent home with topical medications that may make their faces look much better pretty quickly. Again, I get the inkling that they weren't that bad physically. Depending on many factors...it's possible. Further...the time during the day may not have been below freezing. It actually looked sunny during some of the day scenes which would make it not as harsh as the nights. The real ordeal apparently took place in March, not December anyway, so maybe things were warming up a bit. My guess is they would not have stayed alive for days if it was truly frigid from sun-up to sun down and then even worse at night. And as far as a snowball fight, if that really happened, I'm sure it warmed them up a bit atleast. Sure they shouldn't expend energy reserves but throughout any physical or emotional event in life - it's been proven that a good attitude alone can do wonders.
