Who Would You Like To See Donnie Yen Fight Next...

I apologize if this has been asked before but who would you like to see Donnie Yen take on next?

I really was impressed by Donnie Yen's fight chereography both here and in "SPL" and think he is probably one of the best around now.

This is of course in the context of a movie and not in real life but here are some on-screen matchups I'd like to see him in:

vs Ray Park (Phantom Menace, X-Men)
vs Cyril Raffaelli (Live Free Die Hard, Banlieue 13)
vs Jason Statham (Transporter, Crank, War)
vs Wesley Snipes (Demolition Man, Blade)
vs Stephen Chow (Kung Fu Hustle)
vs Tony Jaa (Ong Bak) or some other similar Thai Fighter
vs Yasuaki Kurata (So Close) although I think he's a bit older
vs Gordon Liu (Kill Bill Vol. 1, Master Killer)
vs Michelle Yeoh (Police Story: Super Cop) I don't think Yen has ever taken on a capable female opponent before although Yeoh also may be a bit too old.
vs Zoe Bell (Death Proof) Dunno how good of a fighter she is but it would be interesting.

Van Damme, Seagal, Jackie Chan and Norris are all too old and he's already fought Jett Li in countless other movies.

Mark Dacascos
Ernie Reyes Jr

2 great choices. I also think that Tony Jaa wouldnt be able to keep up with Donnie Yen.

Tony Jaa
Kenshiro hehehe

Donnie Yen and Tony Jaa would be a good match-up. I heard that Jaa was originally trained in kung-fu, and studied muay thai when he got the part for Ong Bak. Look at the promo trailer for Ong Bak 2 and you'll see Jaa doing some pretty impressive kung-fu.

Another good match-up would be Donnie Yen and Yusuaki Kurata. For those who don't know who Kurata is, he was Leung Kar Yan's teacher in Legend Of A Fighter, and was also in Fist Of Legend with Jet Li.

I was hoping he would have had a fight with Wesley in Blade 2, but he did do a great job with the fight choreography in that one.

He had a good fight in Highlander: endgame, but too bad the movie sucked.

He did fight Jackie in Shanghai knights

I would like to see him fight scott adkins, michael jai white, mark decascos, ernie reyes jr. cyril raffaelli, and lorenzo lamas, j/k

Gary Coleman, Judi Dench, Stephen Hawking

Hawking is good, but he talks too much trash...

Jackie Chan AGAIN

Another excellent choice! No hollywood crap! I wasnt completely satisfied with Shanghai Knights. The fight was cut. You can see the entire fight in the extra features.

thats just wrong lol he's in a wheelchair for his life lol

Yasuaki Kurata is a great choice! Sure he may be "older" but Sammo Hung in SPL wasn't exactly "young."

Also seeing how Yen mixed in grappling with his fight sequences, I would really like to see him work with Richard Norton, since he is doing some similar work right now ... besides it's been far too long since Norton was featured in a Hong Kong film.

I would like to see Yen and Chan match up again in a modern setting ... I think that could be cool, but you could say that about Yuen Biao as well, but I think I'm dating myself a bit. Ideally it would have been great to see a match up between Yen and Dick Wei in Wei's heyday.

But going back to my first choice, I think Norton started doing something of late in his films that I'm sure Yen could do ... incorporate "real" MMA fighters, a couple of bigger guys, and then let his (Yen's) creativity run wild ... because ultimately that's what has inspired this whole conversation: Yen's creativity (and ability to deliver on that creativity). I believe (much like Corey Yuen) his choreography can make any fight sequence great and that is attracting the talent to his films as well.

Cyril Raffaelli! yeah, dude! good choice! Even though Jackie is gettin old I'd Love to see them go all out, no wire, no tricks. Wu Jing (No weapons)...
Just old school...

I think if anyone could realistically give Donnie a good matchup and make it look amazing on camera (with Donnie's fight choreography of course) it would be Tony Jaa. We've already seen him with Jet Li, Jackie Chan and Samo Hung. A younger Steven Seagal would have been great. For all his bad movies, the guy could really kick some serious ass in real life.

Him and wesley snipes would be cool, can't see him going all the way to china though and It would no doubt be *beep* if Donnie went to America.
