Great drama, lets have more ITV

The last one is next sunday and I'm sad already. For the last two sundays something worthwhile has been on tv.
I was also really upset that the lovely, handsome and sexy Ian McIlhenney's character was killed off.
It's rare to get Irish TV, comedy or films on telly and it's annoying that when we do it's so short-lived.
ITV and the Irish funders- please make more.
Truly engrossing drama and beautiful scenery.

I sat through the first episode and half of the second before giving up. This has to be the dullest cop show yet devised.

Like a lot of modern cop dramas, this is all talk and no action. The one saving grace is Ian McElhinney, a fine actor who probably does these sort of shows with his eyes shut.

A total dud.

I must say I was a bit nervous watching this show for the first time. I was expecting Ballykissangle meets heartbeat. Thankfully I was wrong.

This was a dark, gritty drama that had me engrossed from the get-go.

Owen McDonall and Ian McIlhenny were easily the best actors in their portayals of Jack(Owen) and Gerry(Ian) Driscoll. Owen especially considering this was his first big role in anything.

But really all the cast were stellar.

The stories are great too and really kepp you guessing.

This has to be the best thing to come out of Irish TV in a very long time.

Indeed. If anyone at ITV with any influence is reading this, PLEASE COMMISSION AT LEAST TEN MORE SERIES OF THIS. Thanks.

Really???

Perhaps the clue is in your term "cop show" Maybe you were hankering after another Cagney and Lacey or Starsky and Hutch? Not enough big bangs or car chases for you?

reply

You should have responded to Paul Witham's. Perish the thought that I should call this a dull cop show!

reply

Yeah, sorry, but you get the idea because I quoted the idiot!

Just watched the final double episode called "The Drowning Man" and I have to say it has been an excellent series. More needed soon!

reply

I hope someone sees fit to release this show as a DVD cos I'd definitely buy it.

reply

Yep - top notch, very enjoyable. More please!!

You all be happy to know that I recently read an article in the Evening Herald newspaper here in Ireland in which it said that RTE have commissioned three more two-parter episodes because Single-Handed is so popular!

So lots more great stories and plenty more lovely Owen too!
