INGENIOUS success!

I wasn't sure if any other Kickstarter backers got this e-mail today, but I thought it was cool to share:

"Hi Backers!!

Just wanted to give a final update and to say thank you again for all of the wonderful support you showed us during our Kickstarter campaign last year. We had to jump through so many hoops and hurdles but the diligence paid off! After all, that is what INGENIOUS is all about! Our goal of achieving worldwide distribution has been met! THANK YOU! We couldn't have done it without your support!

As of October 15, 2013 INGENIOUS can be purchased at Targets, Walmarts and Best Buys across the USA in addition to being available to purchase or rent on iTunes.

Arriba!"

Talk about the little movie that could--looks like it will be distributed for purchase everywhere now. Props to the movie creator's perseverance too and all of Renner's success. Let this be proof that lighting really may strike twice and nice guys can finish first!

And you know he threw a little money in the KickStarter campaign. Too bad he didn't do one of those press conferences where they show the donor handing over the five foot x two foot check and shaking hands with big cheesy smiles.

But come to think of it, there are those that would have seen that as PR damage control and jumped on it like *beep* on a shovel.

Some things are better done with no fanfare.

Thanks for posting the info on the Ingenious marketing...I just assumed (though I don't like too!) that Renner would have done some marketing, as well as, the rest of the cast; but it's nice to have it confirmed. So glad this little gem finally made it out to the public. Like the "little train that could" it just took a little longer, but so worth it.

It really shows, once again, the diverse talent that Jeremy has! I think my favorite scene is the "dog racing". He just really shows the character of Sam so well. "Not a word that goes into his head, that doesn't come out of his mouth". So true!

Of course, there are always those 'fans' that know best and can tell if the movie is good or not, sight unseen.

HUH??? Is that like judging a book by it's cover?? Seeing if the movie is "R" rated? Has your hero shirtless?? Sometimes I wonder if I'm on planet earth!!

I just don't understand how a person could say they are a movie buff, then slam an indie movie because it didn't get picked up for wide release. Guess they can just wait for the next Transformers movie- heard it's really good. Mark is shirtless & has a sex scene that makes Boogie Nights tame! Guess that will sell fan-girl tickets.

Sorry! rant over...I'll blame my tirade on lack of sleep & working crazy hours this week.

I'll be sunny tomorrow!

now back to our Ingenious is FANTASTIC thread...

sorry it took me a bit to respond...had to pick myself up off the floor & change my underwear! I completely understand that some just don't like Indie films- one of my best friends doesn't care for them...( her loss) BUT at least she has the intelligence to understand that it's extremely difficult to get financing and in theaters!! As for the "sex"scene.. you are so right. Actually, in all honesty, it could have been cut & the movie would have progressed fine without it; but then the "closet beefcake babes" would have nothing to Youtube on a Saturday night!

back to our "little jem"... I have watched it this week twice & can't wait to own it! Still deciding my favorite scene- the diner scene, the dog track scene or the cactus scene...all so different, but really showcase Jeremy in different aspects of the character Sam... which is your favorite?

ps "is it gem or jem?"

YES , soooo true!

One of My fav scenes is where Sam is meeting with Gina to try and convince her to give Matt another chance..(and while hugging her goodbey, he slips the talking-opener in her bag) He is really awesome in that scene, very likable/unsure/bearing up/trying to be optimistic... and he Always has that spark in his eyes that makes him so special :)

Another scene : when Sam takes Matt to the dessert to steel a giant cactus to make the money they so deperately need - his face changes from very determit and optimistic to very lost and desperate in a few seconds (when he admitts that he has noting else..) AWESOME :)

You just referenced my two favorite scenes...the diner scene is brilliant, so understated yet, so dramatic. Jeremy really shows so many sides to his character here. (As he always does.)

For the cactus scene- it broke my heart- like a little boy wanting so much to make everything right, & realizing he can't.

agree , he was excellent !!

and I read many good reviews, Dallas and Renner had great Chemistry together. This is what one wrote:

Jeremy Renner was at the screening for a Q&A. He was funny, quirky, and candid, much like his character in the film. I can't wait to see this guy in more vehicles, even the television series "The Unusuals" that he's making with Amber Tamblyn.

Two thumbs way up!
