Honestly, I thought the movie was pretty good. It's a family movie remember, and a holiday one at that so I guess the "bar" shouldn't be set too high to begin with. People are complaining about the story but I honestly don't see a problem with it. It was funny, cute, entertaining and I thought the acting was just fine, especially from Matthew Knight. Creepy?! People owe it to themselves to see Matthew's other movies. He gave a chilling performance in "For The Love of a Child" and made me cry in "Candles on Bay Street". He is simply amazing, especially for his age. I do agree with the fact that the "Santa's Village" scene when Matthew opens the red door was just plain odd and poorly done. Being familiar with film making myself, I came to the conclusion that scene was a very last minute thing. By the way, did anyone else think the song "California Christmas" was a Beach Boys song? It sounded just like them but it wasn't them, it was Billy Martin. This movie really isn't as bad as people are saying, give it a shot. And for the love of God, see Matthew Knight's other movies, you'll love him!
