Disappointed with music choices in the film

I wished that they had more Dominican music in the film. I realize the film was about his transition into American culture, but I was hoping to see more Dominican food, Dominican Dance etc in the movie. The other music, though pretty was very depressing. Perhaps this was the point of the movie.
