When all is said and done...
Michael Keaton was an actor mainly known for comedy roles, who got cast as a superhero. The fan base got frightened and angry, thinking he'd just make a huge joke out of the character. Instead of doing this, he manned up, played the part faithfully, proved all his naysayers wrong, and launched a hit film franchise.
Seth Rogen was an actor mainly known for playing comedy roles, who got cast as a superhero(and wrote the script). The fan base got frightened and angry thinking he'd just make a huge joke out of the character, and that exactly what he did. He proved all his naysayers right, and the movie was a critical and commercial failure, that even the people who made it admit isn't any good.
You can try to defend Seth all you want, but that's what it comes down to. As much as I don't like him, I'll admit he could have been to Green Hornet what Keaton was to Batman. Shame he didn't even bother to try.
