Similar movies?

Wow, after watching this movie, I came on IMDb expecting to see lots of folks (other than those who worked with the film) saying great stuff about it. No such luck.

And I was also hoping for the ever popular "similar movies?" thread so many other movie boards have going for them.

I actually liked this movie a LOT. To me, because it was off-base and not what one would have expected, it bordered on brilliance.

In fact I would characterize it a bit like a "Present Tense" version of The Butterfly Effect, one of my favorite movies, ever.

As in the beginning, when Daniel discovered (spoilers below)....

the stop/start power of the videocamera, I felt due to the fact that he was so traumatized (expectedly) by his loss, he was striving for answers, closure, and somehow, a way to make it better.

I felt he at first tried. But that wasn't possible because a) the videocamera couldn't suspend reality in the past (that's what I was originally thinking - preventing the accident somehow) and b) there were really no answers to seek.

Accidents happen. So much like in Butterfly Effect, when Evan each time went back to change things - a bad unintentional effect happened. And in this movie, although Daniel couldn't travel backward, seems everything he first did - he tried it with good intentions, but there was bad consequences.

See the similarity there?

So, can anyone else think of similar movies? Thanks...

Did you ever find any other time-freeze films? I've been unable to find and see this one. Sounds real interesting.
