The Christian, mainly Protestant, countries evolved into the model of secular, democratic human rights orientated countries that we have as standards, commonly referred to as the "West". The original UN Charter was derived from that culture, so don't put down the Christians. Pat Robertson may be a jerk, but he doesn't start violent riots and demand blasphemers, apostates and wayward daughters be killed.

So the Muslims in the Sudan who have killed millions through Shariah in the last 20 years are no worse than some queer hating crackpot, who to my knowledge has killed, driven off, enslaved and looted no one? Who has he hurt and what government is backing him, unlike the murderous Janjaweed slavers who are proxies of the Khartoum Islamic dictatorship. The standards we use to judge countries and groups, aka human rights standards, are western values, they did not originate in African, Asian or Islamic countries.
Finding someone, who in this case isn't even an exception to the rule, does not invalidate my claim. Nobody said that all westerners are blessed angels and everyone else is a monster.
You remind me of all the fellow travellers who would throw out non sequiters about segregation in the South every time someone objected to the montstrous totalitarianism, mass murder and assault on human rights by a Communist regime.
