Increasing awareness toward African poverty

LAND OF HIGHER PEACE (in pre-production and set for an early-October shoot on location in Gondar and Addis Ababa, Ethiopia) is a documentary that follows an African-American patriarch as he takes his son and grandson to the Ethiopian deaf school he founded 45 years earlier, hoping to pass the torch of humanitarian concern for impoverished Africa. In following his story, the audience is exposed to the extreme conditions experienced by Ethiopian orphans in a more palatable way than the standard “Feed the Children” campaign. The result, hopefully, will be a raised awareness for international poverty and an individualized call to charitable aid.

Currently, we need a total $6,000 to meet our basic production costs. To raise those funds, we offer the following incentives:

Investors of $100 or more will receive a free DVD of the finished project -- autographed by Mark Stokes, the director of this film.

Investors of $200 or more will receive both the autographed LAND OF HIGHER PEACE DVD and the DI PASSAGGIO DVD (autographed by James Kicklighter, that film’s director).

Additionally, for every donation of $5,000 to the LAND OF HIGHER PEACE, you will receive free producing services from Kicklighter, and free script consultation from Stokes. Each has a unique background in his particular field, offering top-quality assistance for all who take advantage of this opportunity. This amazing value is perfect for established filmmakers looking to cut costs, or beginners looking to learn the ropes of the film-making process.

Those unable to invest large amounts have an opportunity as well. Every donor of $20 or more receives an Associate Producer credit in the film, which will be touring extensively in competitive film festivals across the nation.

All donations and contributions will be tax-deductible.

Our previous projects include DI PASSAGGIO (winner of the 2009 Accolade Award of Merit) and THEATER OF THE MIND (commissioned by Georgia Southern University for the Broadcast Education Association Festival at the National Association of Broadcasters convention in Las Vegas).
