Are All The Husbands Gay?

Why does it seem whenever he (David) goes to a male/female couple home to decorate, the husband is always the most excited and the husbands look a little gay? I am gay and have great gaydar, those husbands are gay! The husbands are the one's that write in to get David into there homes. LOL!!!

reply

Hah! I have often thought the same thing. It's almost like David gets to choose which couples he'd like to 'help' and picks the ones with the cute and/or 'gay' husbands.

What a ridiculous assumption.

I don't agree, he seems to really cater to the lady of the house. I have seen some husbands get super excited, but let me tell you, if he came to decorate one of my rooms, I would make them look sedate!

reply

They might not be gay, they just happen to like nice decor as well. It's the 21st century my man, just b/c a guy has good taste doesn't mean he's gay.

Anyway....that aside, I think it's because the women are not calling, the men go ahead and do it, lol. However, like cowtownmom said, he does cater to the woman of the house.

P.S. have you seen how dead some of those houses look?

reply

You do realise that the show is set in San Francisco, where many hetero-sexual couples enjoy art, design, fine dining. Many of the men you meet in SF are very metrosexual, that and being in one of the largest gay friendly cities in the world pretty much means the normal butch male archetype isn't there. Well, except for the gay leather-daddy's you see in the bars in the Castro.

reply

For you tourists who might be reading this thread, the gay leather-daddy's are at the bars South of Market and not in the Castro. lol

Isn't this show set in Miami?

I noticed this, too. There are a LOT of episodes where my gaydar is going off big-time. I watch the episode and wonder, "Does this woman realize her husband is gay?" It has nothing to do with being metrosexual or being into fashion, design, etc. Many of these husbands are so obviously gay. (And I'm gay, so I'm not saying that in a negative way.)

reply

If you want to see gay husbands, watch "What Not To Wear" on TLC.

reply

What are you talking about? The husbands on the show are hardly even shown, as they aren't even the focus to each episode.

What a ridiculous conclusion to draw from such small details. I haven't noticed any of the husbands being 'more' excited than their wives and even if they were, who cares? Perhaps they just have good taste in home decor and are just looking forward to the new change? That doesn't mean they're Gay. Also, how can they 'look' Gay? Are there people who 'look' straight? Ones outward appearance is not always an outward reflection of who that person is on the inside, nor is it always a representation of their sexuality.

You're a moron.

Obviously you do not have a good Gaydar at all, if all you're doing is just stereotyping and/or making judgments based off of just small, meaningless detail.
