Am I the only one thinking that this is a remake of jagriti(1954)?

Though the movie is excellent I just cant digest that no one thought of it being a remake or inspired by one of the greatest Bollywood movie Jagriti(1954) ( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0145851/ ), especially the first half.
