Nice longer scene btw. They both are smart, remember that conversation dialog. They should studying in medical college.

Yeah, surely he deserved one for at least the weight lost, if not the performance.

Made me think of The Machinist.

The weight loss - as Fassbender himself stated - is just a technical aspect. He deserved every possible award for all the rest of his performance.

The Oscars is on life support and occasionally gets it right. It doesn't matter. This is a masterpiece and I don't need to say anything about McQueen and Fassbender. Just look at their work.
