'You're not a failed novelist...'

"... You're a scared one".

... and the way Bonneville looks at her (Sophie) after that line is one of the most romantic things I've seen in a while. The film actually has few moments like that, a sparkles of real old-fashioned (but SO real the same time) romaticism.

I have to admit, I really like this film, it's thruly charming and sweet experience, something you don't really see these days too often. One of the biggest suprises of non-mainstream cinema.

This movie is so different. It's almost hard to explain why I like it. But, after watching it the first time....I caught myself watching it whenever I came across it on the telly. It's a really insightful movie.

It was often rather slow: long pauses and ridiculous love advice. Maybe they should leave the making of French films to the French.
