Does Valkyrie Let the Audience Know the Assassination Attempt Timeline?

Been awhile since I saw the film though just watched a doc on the same. According to the doc the Allies had already landed in France and the Wehrmacht defeated in Russia while the Soviets were marching toward Berlin during the assassination attempt. At that point the writing was on the wall regarding the outcome of the war. Killing Hitler seemed only an attempt to lessen damage to Germany as opposed to ending a war and suffering for all nations involved.

Amazingly Stauffenberg's wife and children survived both the war and wrath of Hitler.


He killed sixteen Czechoslovakians. Guy was an interior decorator.
