First, the plot is an inspiring piece of history, beyond question. There is some question how many of the plotters were actually opposed to the persecution of the Jews, and most of the plotters were not pacifists. Most of all ...

It is unrealistic to suppose that the war would have magically disappeared. The plotters had some idea that they could have made a negotiated settlement with at least the Western Allies, but that in reality would have been extremely unlikely. Unconditional surrender would have still been the watchword of the Western Allies, and the plotters had no intention of going for that. And the Soviets stopping their counter-assault was never going to happen in any circumstances. Having suffered unspeakable horrors, they were in full blood-lust.

It is entirely possible that key aspects of the war would have developed even more destructively. With perhaps more competent high command on the German side, the end might have been more prolonged, more bitter, and with more casualties to the Allies both in the West and the East, but probably no less destructive in the end to the Germans.

By mid-1944 the "Final Solution" had largely run its course. The greater part of the casualties of the Holocaust were already history. Terrible deeds continued to be perpetrated, but by November 1944, only four months after the culmination of the plot, Himmler already ordered gassings to cease everywhere.

Well I am not sure where I read it but supposedly more people died in Europe from the time of this assassination to the end of the war than all the other years combined. Hitler dying and his other henchman rounded up would have opened up a world of possibilities but IDD that total surrender would have been demanded that late in the war. If Germany stopped hostilities with the Allies and put most of their army in place near the Russian front it may have forced Russia to consider a cease fire especially with the other Allies pressuring them to accept Germany's surrender.
