was that mosquito really burned?

there's a scene where nazi guy burns a mosquito on his hand with a cigarette.. was that a real mosquito? did any of the animal activists ever complain?

It made me wonder also if it was fake or something.
It would've been funny if they said, "no mosquitos were harmed" after the credits.
But then again it's just a bug so maybe it was real.

The animal rights peeps and the lefties in Hollywood sometimes are that jaded/funny. In Shawshank Redemption they made sure that the maggot that was fed to Jake the bird had died of natural causes and wasn't fed while alive.
