Can someone tell me what was so great about the time of Nixon or Reagan? Because every documentary and historical account I read seems to point to bad *beep* Our governments supplying drugs directly and distributing it to large urban areas full of minorities. Like Freeway Ricky Ross, for example. One only needs to look objectively to see that things like The War on Drugs, immigration, gay marriage, etc. Are huge targets for both sides. The irony being that the founding fathers had no intention of a government running the way it is now. Of course we must change with the times, but change into what?
I've heard all the arguments for the drug war, against health care reform, and all this other regurgitated crap. Denial of the hypocrisy in this government won't hide the truth forever, though. I've been researching quite thoroughly and objectively the past few years over mainly the war on drugs, but also immigration which ties in, in a huge way. It's *beep* and anyone who is willing to look at the evidence that is honest will tell you the same. Does that mean the republican party is entirely useless? Hell no. But there is a lot of accountability lacking on both sides, and a lot more for the right.
Again, I cite the drug war as a perfect example of complete and utter *beep* And people on both sides have to be held accountable for that, but the side that is holding onto it like a kung-fu death grip is the conservatives.

But conservatives want to take us back to the medieval system of winner-takes-all feudalism where a tiny number of wealthy nobles lords over the peasantry with an iron fist. The only difference, is that back then, the nobles were landowners, and today they are corporations.

It is that kind of logic that allowed certain men come into power over the last 30 years that exploded our deficits on tax cuts that mostly benefitted the top 5 percent that contributed to the income gap widening, allowed Wall Street to run rampant (and then bailed them out when they crashed the economy), and broke our bank and international standing on wars that got thousands of our sons and daughters killed with the only winners being military contractors.
But as long as you can persecute Mexicans (or any and all hispanics) and Muslims, you feel it you're on the right side of the American dialogue? I'm sure the Southerners who passionately fought civil rights under the guise of states rights while ignoring the bleeding ulcer bubbling in Vietnam also thought they were the "true Americans" then, as well. They also didn't need big words either.

The US should have more parties, the Democrats should be split in to parties, The Liberals and the Democrats, let's face it, Hillary Clinton and Obama are not liberal, not so long they support the death penalty and still support the war on terror and Iraq. The republic party should be split in the Republican and the Conservatives. The republic would be the party for the guys that love money and guns like Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis and Arnie, and the Conservatives would be for the crazy Christian politics like Sarah Palin and Bush. Then you could separate the religious crazy from the gun and money crazy guys (we love does, but not the religious nut bags).
I'm not American, but it seems like the Democrats are in the centre in a scale from left to right. There is really no socialist party, and sometimes the Republic party seems to be to right, not yet as right as fascism, but still to crazy religious right.

I agree to a degree on the multi party system it can give more choice. But you can get minority governments like in Canada right now where the conservatives have the most members of a single party in power but the other parties Liberals, Bloc, NDP and green add up to more members than the offical government which causes all sorts of trouble.
