Just a thought.

Okay, maybe it's only me, or my town or whatever.
But doesn't it seem a little awkward to go to a teachers house, even if it's something like what she's dealiing with? I mean, when I was like, 13 there was this teacher I could tell anything to, and I was like at my lowest point one night, and I considered just walking to her house to talk to her, but I got by her street and I'm like, this is way too weird, so I went home.
Maybe it's just because I live in a little hickville, druggie town, but I don't know.
What do you guys think?

Well Yea, now-a-days if a student were to visit a teacher at there home, the teacher would probably be like labelled a total creeper/pedifile

I thought it was weird as well. I've known my teacher for a long time and she's been through alot with me and vice versa, but I've never considered going to her house. We always went to get coffee or something....

When i was in school I was very close to my home ec teacher. She was always there for me. I used to clean her floors and bathrooms for money. She always helped me out when I needed it. She ended up coming to my wedding and I am still friends with her now 16 years later.

As a teacher, I would never allow a student into my home if it was just the two of us. I've had a few students I was super close to and I met them for lunch out in town one day, but it was in a very public place and both sets of parents were aware. Just for your own protection it's not really advisable to allow a student into your home, etc if you're alone. Even in your classroom, you should leave the door open if it's just two of you (boy or girl). It's just a protection thing.

As the child of a teacher, I grew up knowing all my high school teachers long before they actually became my teachers. In that situation I have been to some houses, babysat for some of ther kids, etc. But that wasn't really a teacher/student relationship as much as a friendly relationship.
