Great Movie!!

Went to watch it last night and two word to describe it "heart breaking".. Acting was superb and what hurts me the most to see that some women do actually go through this pain. I'd ask everyone to go and see it, forget the negative reviews. First I thought I'm gonna rent it but then I was like WTH just go and watch and I'm glad I came to see it.

I really wanna do something about those women who are forced to go to that profession, very sad sad world we are living in and ignoring such group of people who are selling them selves to put food on the table

I went in expecting a drama queen and lots of tears but I found out that it was actually a very good movie, the reviews are all crap, people just cant take reality in this country. When the movie started with the song I was thinking 'Oh dear God get me outta here!' but dont walk out then as I was about to!
Sure people give a stupid movie like Dhamaal 3.5 stars, a movie which copied almost every single act from other movies. But movies like this one rarely every get good reviwes.

And said that just one word.
But it was a word that set my heart singing.

Bhool Bhuliya is CRAP. All the jokes fail and the story line is predictble from the first 10 minutes of the film.

Akshay Kumar is horrible with his over-acting...none of his so called jokes made sense. Questions peoples sense of humour.....maybe u were one of the few who got all the jokes!!!!!!!

The movie is watchable enough as light-hearted fluff, but as with most Bollywood movies these days, if you're looking for an accurate and realistic portrayal of the murky world of prostitution then you'll find little insight here.

If anything, this film glamorizes the profession, focusing on the big bucks and nice clothes, but not the common mistreatment and exploitation the women often endure. This film was entertainment, but all the song, dance and silly humour detracted from the sensitive subject matter.

Depends what you want from this film - you'll either come away having loved it or quite annoyed with it.

Realism in movies overrated. I hope Bollywood never shies away from fantasy in the pretentious pursuit of 'realism' a la Hollywood and European cinema.

I saw the movie this afternoon...not bad.

I thought it was good AND EVERY SCENE was dramatic and the movie moved forward quite fast.

Too bad there werent enough songs in the film though.

Very realistic of how Indian parents want their children to go out adn make them $$$$...get over it...make money yourself and let ur kids live their lives u stupid pricks!

"Too bad there werent enough songs in the film though/"

That's actually the one thing I HATE about Bollywood films - they just 'get in the way', add nothing to the movie's dramatic impact and if anything probably detracts from it! They also make a film longer than it needs to be.

This film was good but when the songs came on I just switched off and checked my mobile for messages.

wow somebody else who like this movie.
<<<sign>> for minute there i thought there was something wrong with me.

Ps. want realism? go watch a documentary

Actually I thought this was quite an interesting film.

Of course the basic storyline is nothing new, however the treatment of it was pretty subtle for Bollywood, not nearly as sensational and melodramatic as it could have been. Of course most prostitution is not like this - however the top end of the market can be glamorous which is part of the reason women in real life get involved in it.

But there was more to it - setting the first part of the film in Banares highlighted the idea of the 'old' India versus the 'new', and the trademarks and patents theme was neatly symbolic of western multinational investment coming into India and changing the culture, both in good ways and bad. It's no co-incidence that the job she tried to get by sleeping with the boss was in a call centre.

So not nearly as simple and dumb as some people seem to think. But I suppose what you get out of a film depends what you bring to it.

The filming and editing was also pretty high standard for Bollywood, where such things can be a bit slapdash, let's face it....

I used to want to change the world. Now I just want to leave the room with a little dignity.
