I thought this was a single film!

For some reason I originally thought that this was a single Anime film when I ordered it online and was a bit(!) surprised when I opened the package and found it was 26 episodes on 6 disks!.Oh boy, I thought. Anyway, I watched the first 2 episodes and was completely blown away. This is fantastically good and I can't wait to see how the adventures of Clare and Raki pay out, and watch the rest of the episodes over time. This is Anime at it's very best-proper adult stories but played out in an animated form-like Wolf's Rain and many other classics. Anybody who thinks of these as cartoons just does not get it at all.
I haven't lodged a rating yet but will do so when I have watched more episodes, but at the moment it's looking like a 9 or a 10..

It's such a great show. So many antagonists in the show, all established correctly, great character development (almost like Spirited Away), and awesome characters in general. All of those factors make the show how great it is.

Well, I've now watched the whole series. I started off watching one episode a day but that soon changed to 2 or 3 as when I got to the end of one I just couldn't wait to see what happened next. Gripping?. I'll say it was. Anybody who calls this a cartoon just doesn't understand anime at all. Real stories with real characters that you really get to care about, just as in this one.
The middle 3 or 4 episodes did sag a bit but the finale really made up for that. I won't give any clues as to what happens, you'll just have to watch it for yourself to find out. Quite, quite, brilliant.10/10.

Ending was terrible. Really ruined what was a great adaption. The way the manga is, they didn't even need to end the anime that way.
