Ripoff of 'Diary of the Dead'. ( Spoilers )

The plot similarities to "Diary of the Dead" are utterly evident.

It occurs in an unmanned abandoned hospital.

One of the characters uses an electrical heart stimulator, just like in "Dary of the Dead".

Now we are going to see a slew of churned out "abandoned hospital" movies.

Wow, you're right. Clearly, Diary of the Dead was the first horror film to feature a hospital, or to have a character who has a pace-maker.

You're joking, right?! It's a rip off because of two similarities?!?! That's like saying a Mercedes is a rip off of a Pinto because they both have 4 wheels and an engine...!

One major difference with this and Diary of the Dead....I actually enjoyed this. Diary of the Dead was total crap and I'm a Romero fan. I agree with the above posters. This is by no means a rip off of DotD because of TWO similarities.

umm, did you actually watch Diary of the Dead. These two movies are not alike. Diary of the Dead was not set in an abandoned hospital, only one sequence was, there were multiple other sets in that movie. Dark Floors was also not set in an abandoned hospital, the hospital was still manned, the characters were just transported to a different dimension were they were the only living people in the hospital (as seenin the scene where Ben travels back to the real world but cant be seen or heard). Second, Diary was about zombies, Dark Floors was about interdimensional monsters (though sadly the Dark Floors didnt explain what the monsters were, I just happen to be a fan of Lordi, the Finnish metal band that made this movie and starred as the monsters). Lordi played themselves, so unless you know of the band members bios, you wouldn't know what they are. Lordi is always seen in their monster costumes, and it is the monster that make up the band not the guys/girl in the suits, kinda like gwar. Third Diary was film using a handheld camera by one of the cast members, this was a third person camera. Lol, you really need to watch both movies again, and i mean the whole movie, before you call one a rip-off. By your logic, and movie set in NYC can be called a rip-off of any movie before it set in NYC. and as far the the defibrillator paddles go, they are trapped in a hospital, they have to defend themselves with what is at hand, and last time i checked, hospitals didnt have arory where you can get a shotgun or something better.

THAT'S it??

That's all you could scrounge up to prove this ridiculous theory?

Go back to third grade.

Hope you were joking because that has to be the silliest I read today. Of all 100 years' worth of cinema, you chose the 2007 film "Diary of the Dead"? The abandoned-hospital setting, since 1920s, has been used so many times that it's not funny.
