Worst Movie Ever

There, I've gone and done it, I've finally joined the mass ranks and started the single most nauseatingly redundant IMDB message thread ever. Do I actually think this is the worst movie ever? Nope, not a chance, that would sort of mean it was the best at something, which is too kind. I had to resort to this because apparently this sort of inane comment is OK, but stating that the people making this movie are obviously planting fake reviews and stacking the ratings isnt.

So for all the administrators and slices schleps, lets sit down for story time, shall we? Humans have always been inventive creatures when it comes to the truth, and the simple explanation is that lies work... to a point. Its also true that repeditive lying hurts your credibility, which can lead to them not working. It's pretty much a gamble here, you might get what you want, but the caveat is that you might not. IMDB administrators have taken that caveat away and basically made no penalty for lying when you take away honest user input. Your site looses credibility when you censor needlessly. I understand you cant really stop people involved from BS'ing, but you can let the rest of us call them out for it. Why should people keep coming here if the ratings and reviews have no bearing on the films actual quality? Seems to me you need to pick if you're an honest ratings site or just another slanted publicity tool for people in the industry.

Slices folks, if you would have just been honest and touted this as your fledgling effort (none of you have written, directed, or acted before, come on this isnt Citizen Kane) instead of a masterpiece you would have probably gotten a much more favorable reception. People dont like to be so overtly shammed. Creating these absurd 10/10 ratings and reviews are what makes some of us angry after we've just been tricked into seeing your movie. Being dishonest might get more people to see your movie, but is that your end goal? You got me to see it, and here I am running my big mouth about just how bad it is and how shady and disgusting you guys are, was that what you were going for? All publicity isnt necessarily good publicity. I have nothing wrong with bad movies, or movies where people are just learning, take Beer Drinkers in Space for instance. BDiS is pretty analogous to the camera work, acting, script and character development and overall look and feel to Slices, but I actually didnt feel cheated after I saw it. Why? Because it was labeled as a bunch of studio employees on their off time making a stupid movie while really drunk. And thats exactly what it was, and it was more enjoyable to watch than Slices because you can tell the actors are actually having fun(and really drunk). One thing going for you is better than nothing, and you guys are in the negative now.

This movie is not worth watching, it has no redeeming qualities whatsoever. We've seen the horror anthology done to death (at least beer drinkers in space was original) and I cant think of one that does it worse than you guys. If you do keep trying (although I would really discourage it at this point) my advice would be that next time you put out a turkey, dont poop on a plate and tell us its potroast ;)

Heck, some people are into poop, you might even get some true fans if you sell it honestly.

I wouldn't worry about the sock puppet accounts too much. IMDb's rating system takes out a lot of irregular voters from the score. That is why the overall voters add up to almost a 6, but it is 3.4 based on IMDb's formula. Over time more and more legit voters might actually watch this "film" (shot on video) and vote it a deserved 1 or 2. Then again, this movie will probably just sink into obscurity and never be seen again. One can hope.

Sure, the filmmakers could hide their sock puppet and friends' accounts better in the reviews (the reviewer stating he gives the movie an 8/10 clearly shows he really voted a 10/10, and how many 10/10 reviews are from accounts that signed up the day of the review and haven't had activity since?), but that just makes the blatant sock puppeteering all the more funny.

Actually, quite a few of the people on the movie have other credits that preceed this movie. Maybe they weren't posted on IMDB yet, but this wasn't a fledgling effort. I haven't seen this yet. I was sort of hoping Netflix would put it on streaming video, but I guess to see it I'll have to use a DVD rental. I recognize some of the names that are listed as having worked onthis and I can't believe it's ALL bad.

Should you make the unwise decision to watch it, prepare to suspend that disbelief. ;) Also prepare to sit with the remote in your hand the entire time turning the volume up and down to try and hear what's going on over the sound of wind in the microphones. Strange that you mention Netflix and still say it cant be all that bad, when most of the reviews there give it one star and cite it as not worth the watch. (And remember, those people actually have to have a paying account to write reviews, unlike here)

If this really isn't these guys first film as you claim it just makes things all that much sadder.
