great docu-film,but...

Thanks a bunch 'the rock' + the others involved! he's soooo just what the UK needs right now!

Felt a tiny bit sorry for the guys who had the idea of bringing Muthana onboard their project,i reckon they had imagined he'd be an asset to the film,a hard working, talented, humble, honest guy with compassion for others after his Iraq experiences, and an optimistic go-getter with much appreciation for the opportunities.. basically everything he wasnt..no wonder they dumped him on us!
Shame it wasnt a happy ending, and that they seemed such wasted opportunities. What i would of given for chances like that!
Hopefully Muthana with undergo a radical change of personality, and become a good honest and productive person, rather than being just another selfish, rude, dishonest, materialistic, workshy sponger,we already had plenty of those in the UK.But 'If' he can see the error of his ways, then good luck to him.

I enjoyed the film anyway, and how they showed the situation as-is without trying to dress it up as something else.

Ditto from the U.S. I was rooting for the kid at first, cutting much slack, until he became a blatantly sleazy ingrate who lashed out at those who already helped him so much. It became ridiculous when he claimed he was too proud to work, then commenced to telephone anyone he ever met to play his ill-tuned violin. (The credit will be yours FOREVER!) In the end I was glad he didn't make it to New York (had they been foolish enough to give him a scholarship). Let someone deserving take his place.

Muthana is living in London right now. He has a girlfriend, a job and a flat. I think the direcor should of continued filming him as he seems very happy now. It's a shame she didn't.

reply

she didn't because he obviously didn't allow her to
