How close is too close?

Does anybody have any opinions on the way in which Ms. Davenport handled herself here?

Personally, I was turned off by the cutesy-cutesy friendliness of her interactions with Muthana. That's all well and good as she was trying to get him to open up, but becoming someone's friend (or casting yourself in that role, dishonestly) brings with it other responsibilities, which she wasn't willing to fulfill. Her camera-op who quit during Everything is Illuminated was spot on in his interview near the end of the film.
