I'd like the name changed in this live adaptation

And yet, the title doesn't change with it.

Also, if I'm truly being ignored, I'll just fill all my posts with insinuations of how, in this fantasy world of yours, Emma Watson only gets the many starring and directing roles she does and isn't qualified for because she sleeps with the producer.

reply

Way to outdo yourself Ryan, worst casting yet.

reply

Good cast listing of the Hayate the Combat Butler film adaptation. Although I haven't seen all the episodes of the anime version (and it's been a year since), I understand who the characters are.

I knew you'd cast Emma Watson as Nagi . And Slash is actually perfect for the role of Makita, since he is a musician in real life. He could perform actual guitar solos in his scenes in the movie, which is better than hiring an actor with no musical experience for the role.

reply

You can't honestly believe that this a good casting. Danielle Panabaker as Maria? Maria is only 17 but she looks and acts much older that Hayate and Nagi often forget her age.

And Nagi is 13, much too old for Emma Watson.

reply

Edwoodasaurus here thinks it's a good casting, so it's not out of the question that someone else would think so, too. What this says about these people's taste and intelligence is another matter.

On the other hand, maybe Shady here is simply a deep-cover troll doing his/her best to puff Uwe here up, only to destroy him later. Which will be hilarious, since ryan thought he had a friend he could gangrape crossdressed Rupert Grint with.

Or maybe they're the same person; they both think ryan's casting adventures are good, they have the same taste in music and ryan responds to him with copypasted replies.

reply

Apparently I lambasted him, an equivalent to Pearl Harbor if you will.

It wouldn't be so bad if he actually watched the show, but as a fan of Hayate(as you can tell because I was the first post on this board OVER 2 YEARS AGO) seeing really stupid castings with little to no logic really piss me off.

reply

And that's where you make your mistake. You assume there is supposed to be logic to this, when all it is is an exercise in text-based autoerotica. This provides an excuse to fantasize about Emma Watson in skimpy Japanese schoolgirl outfits.

And forced transgenderism for Rupert Grint. You can't forget that, because ryan really gets off to that. Seriously. It's a bit disturbing, actually. (On that thought, maybe he fantasizes about being Emma Watson, not about being with her. Which makes it even more disturbing.)

You can read all about it in the wiki he made for this fruity obsession.

reply

thx

BTW, have you already ignored Dang58? Because just after you posted I was attacked--Pearl Harbor'd, if you will--by him A SECOND TIME on this board. (I could tell it was him just by clicking on the link reading [ignored], in case you don't know)

Oh, and when I cast Rupert Grint as Britney and John Travolta as River Styx, did you understand that they (Britney and River Styx) are characters in Nagi's manga-within-an-anime? (That was in case you still remember the manga-within-an-anime.) I cast those two characters assuming that an Ultimate Collector's Edition DVD and BluRay inserted the live adaptation of Nagi's manga-within-an-anime into the film. (Like with Tales of the Black Freighter for Watchmen, the footage would be shot for the film but cut from the theatrical release due to time constraints and released separately on DVD and BluRay at the time of the theatrical release. Of course, the Ultimate Collector's Edition of Watchmen won't be released for a couple of months, but still... I assume you have heard of Watchmen?)

EDIT: As of the most recent edit to this post, both of the trolls who have posted on this thread attacked--Pearl Harbor'd, if you will--me YET AGAIN. I'm all for somebody reporting theodoricblood (I figured out the ID's of those trolls simply by clicking the [ignored] link on their posts), since he's the ringleader of this trollage. What I don't get is the fact that though theodoricblood hates our guts, he isn't even bothering with the Ignore button. If he had ignored us like we ignored him in the first place, things would be MUCH quieter around here. As it is, I support any user who wishes to report theodoricblood.

Uwe, Uwe, Uwe. Not only do you need to brush up on the definition of "primadonna" (HINT: being called a primadonna isn't a positive thing), but you need to look up the verb form of "Pearl Harbor", as well.

The verb "to Pearl Harbor" means conducting a sneak attack. Cold-blooded betrayal, while not required, usually goes along with it. If I and the person who I hadn't interacted with before this thread are already declared enemies of yours (already at war, if you will), by definition we cannot have Pearl Harbored you.

I know thinking of doing things unprintable on a family website to Emma Watson and Rupert Grint takes up time and mental energy you could instead have devoted to learning how to properly use the new words your teachers taught you, but you can at least make the effort.

reply

Yes, Dang58 is ignored, and theodoricblood too

Actually, I didn't catch the manga-within-an-anime reference until you mentioned it. But it's a clever idea to do it, so that the extra scenes aren't put to waste, and they can be viewed as canon to the actual film.

And yeah, I've seen the film version of 'Watchmen' and read its graphic novel. The overall story is very good, but I personally enjoyed its graphic novel form more than the film adaptation. I'm not saying the movie was bad or anything, it was just difficult to watch at some points, and some scenes felt fragmented. But I guess the ultimate collector's edition of the movie will add more scenes to fix the fragments.

Here's my picks for the soundtrack (once you put yours down, we can combine our choices by picking the best of our selections and mixing them into the soundtrack).

1. "Unforgettable" by Nat King Cole
2. "Rumble" by Link Wray and His Ray Men
3. "Slow" by Professional Murder Music
4. "Kung Fu Fighting" by Carl Douglas
5. "I'm Your Boogie Man" cover by White Zombie
6. "Me and Bobby McGee" cover by Emma Watson
7. "Life For Rent" by Dido
8. "Secret Agent Man" by Johnny Rivers
9. "Eye of the Tiger" by Survivor
10. "Hallelujah" cover by Rufus Wainwright
11. "Orion" by Metallica
12. "She's a Rebel" by Green Day (I thought it might go well as the closing theme to the individual version of Nagi's manga on DVD and BluRay, but feel free to choose your own closing theme to said manga-within-an-anime if you wish)

Now it's your turn to lay down your picks for the soundtrack.

Cool! Now let's condense our two soundtracks into our own version of the soundtrack. I think the five songs I'd call "must-haves" in what we'll call "the definitive Hayate no Gotoku! soundtrack" are "Unforgettable" by Nat King Cole, "Rumble" by Link Wray and His Ray Men, "She's a Rebel" by Green Day (or whichever song you think should be the closing theme to the individual DVD and BluRay release of Nagi's manga-within-an-anime), "Eye of the Tiger" by Survivor, and "Beat It" by Michael Jackson. What do you think should be included in the combination?

>:(
"Are you trying to say "capisce"? Because it hurts my ears the way you say it."

reply

These are the songs I think should be in the list:

1. "Unforgettable" by Nat King Cole
2. "Beat It" by Michael Jackson
3. "She's a Rebel" by Green Day (I like your idea of making this song the closing theme of the DVD & BluRay release of the film )
4. "Action" by Def Leppard
5. "Eye of the Tiger" by Survivor
6. "Sweet Child O' Mine" by Guns N' Roses
7. "Rumble" by Link Wray and His Ray Men (this one has a great rhythm!)
8. "It's My Life" by No Doubt
9. "Me and Bobby McGee" cover by Emma Watson
10. "Kung Fu Fighting" by Carl Douglas
11. "Easy Lover" by Phil Collins
12. "Orion" by Metallica
13. "Hallelujah" cover by Rufus Wainwright

Good choice! All that's left is to arrange the songs into a specific order, and we have our soundtrack! (Note that I was planning this to be like the Watchmen soundtrack, so most of these songs, despite being appropriate for the film, should seem out of place at the critical moment. I was thinking, the Hayate the Combat Butler movie should start as Hayate is running from the Yakuza, and the song for that occasion should be "Unforgettable", which played as the first song of Watchmen when the Comedian was murdered by Ozymandias's agents. On the other hand, the opening credits of the film might be appropriate for playing "Rumble". Also, since "Pirate Jenny", which played at the end of Tales of the Black Freighter, was the last track on the Watchmen soundtrack, "She's a Rebel", which could play at the end of the DVD and BluRay individual release of Nagi's manga-within-an-anime, has to be the last track on the soundtrack, OK?)

[deleted]

I would say to put the song called "Rumble" first on the list, then "Unforgettable" second. I think "Rumble" by Link Wray and His Ray Men should be played in the opening credits, then "Unforgettable" by Nat King Cole can be played after the opening credits to start the movie with that scene where Hayate runs from the Yakuza.

So this is how I arranged the songs for the soundtrack:

1. "Rumble" by Link Wray and His Ray Men
2. "Unforgettable" by Nat King Cole
3. "Sweet Child O' Mine" by Guns N' Roses
4. "Easy Lover" by Phil Collins
5. "It's My Life" by No Doubt
6. "Action" by Def Leppard
7. "Me and Bobby McGee" cover by Emma Watson
8. "Orion" by Metallica
9. "Eye of the Tiger" by Survivor
10. "Kung Fu Fighting" by Carl Douglas
11. "Beat It" by Michael Jackson
12. "Hallelujah" cover by Rufus Wainwright *
13. "She's a Rebel" by Green Day **

* = Ending song of the theatrical version of the film
** = Ending song of the DVD and BluRay release

Wow! You really have this down pat! Here's the definitive Needless track listing:

1. "Rumble" by Link Wray and His Ray Men
2. "Unforgettable" by Nat King Cole
3. "Sweet Child O' Mine" by Guns N' Roses
4. "Easy Lover" by Phil Collins
5. "It's My Life" by No Doubt
6. "Action" by Def Leppard
7. "Me and Bobby McGee" cover by Emma Watson
8. "Orion" by Metallica
9. "Eye of the Tiger" by Survivor
10. "Kung Fu Fighting" by Carl Douglas
11. "Beat It" by Michael Jackson
12. "Hallelujah" cover by Rufus Wainwright *
13. "She's a Rebel" by Green Day **

* = Ending song of the actual film (do remember that even on Watchmen, the ending song, in that case "Desolation Row" cover by My Chemical Romance, remained the same on all home video releases)
** = Ending song of the individual DVD and BluRay release of the adaptation of Nagi's manga-within-an-anime (I haven't gotten the UCE of Watchmen yet, bu it's doubtful that the ending song to Tales of the Black Freighter, "Pirate Jenny" cover by Nina Simone, will be carried over to the UCE of Watchmen, which combines the director's cut with the whole of TotBF)

I hope you understand why the footnotes were modified; the reasons for the modification of the footnotes from your posting of the arrangement are in parentheses next to the corresponding footnote on my posting of this arrangement.

Silly Uwe. The Comedian wasn't murdered by Ozymandias's "agents"; he was murdered by Ozymandias himself.

You could at least have the common decency to have actually seen the work you shamelessly rip off, but we all know that takes too much time away from your Rupert Grint fantasizing.
