The teenage girls in this kind of movie

The one thing this movie has and is so common in all movies of this genre, not to mention most sitcoms, is how horrible teenage American girls really are. They put down their parents making it clear nothing their parents do is worth the time of day. All because everything has to be their way, every hour, every second. They roll their eyes at everything a parents says and scream in public that they don't love them. The parents or parent in turn, is a 'please, can't we be friends?' helpless divorcee or widow.

Yeah, but children are basically stupid and selfcentered, their brains aren't fully formed until the mid twenties, and even that isn't a guaranteed for maturity.
Of course this movie is more cliche nonsense and could well have been written by a teenager.
