This is NOT improv.


The fact that crap like this is what comes to mind when most Americans think of improv makes me absolutely nauseous.

I've only seen the bare minimum of the American version of this show. I agree, it really didn't seem like improv to me. I also remember an old episode of Oprah when she was doing a show about this show, American Idol, and a couple of others. They got Jason Alexander to do TGYH skit on Oprah to show the premise of the show, and at the time I remember thinking there was no way he was improvising. It felt like he'd already rehearsed much of his dialogue.

I highly recommend you watch the original Australian version, particularly episodes featuring Angus Sampson, Shaun Micallef, Josh Lawson and Frank Woodley.

Why hate someone because of religion, race, gender, differing opinion etc? Get past it =/

If you asked most Americans what comes to mind when they think of improv, I think the far more likely answer is Whose Line is it Anyway? rather than this show. And for me, specifically, what comes to mind is the British original over the (still quite good) rather inferior American version.
