Pretty to look at, but I sure hope Takaki, Akari,and Kanae find someone to be happy with because this is definitely a melancholy tale.

Takaki seems to have made some peace at the end. Akari is engaged so she's already found someone to be happy with. Kanae also has a happier ending in the Manga.
