this movie was so damn boring, the visuals were great. but everything else was super boring. and long and lame. maybe you just gotta be a tin tin fan

It's people like you who are dull. Maybe you could stop to drink and eat like a cow when you watch a movie, you probably don't "fall asleep". I'm a movigoer since 1953 (I'm 73 now) and never, never, have "felt asleep" during a movie.

I very much wanted to like this movie. But I agree it was very boring. I fell asleep probably three times. The story just was not interesting to me in the least. The visuals are gorgeous though.

Watching it now and yeah not the most exciting movie. I keep rewinding it because I keep losing interest. I came here to check the rating just to see it wasnt me. Will keep watching though. Heard the ending is fun.

Even with all the action going on every 2 second I too was very bored by the movie. maybe its because the movie did allow us to care about the characters and what was going on. Felt the same way about Man of Steel. Action and adventure is fun sure but if you make it all about that then your just going to put me to sleep. I was looking at my watch at the 50 minute mark.

shareActually, I'll be the first one to say I've always found Herge's Tintin boring. The panel arrangements are always the most banal. It's mostly medium shots. There are no closeups, no birds-eye-views, no worms-eye-view, few long shots, no over the shoulder shots, etc. I'm reading a Tintin comic right now and I'm extremely underwhelmed.
I'm seeing Tintin punch a guy and it's a medium shot. I'm thinking a different shot would have made the punch more satisfying. Perhaps a shot of them closeup from the chest up. Or perhaps a shot over Tintin's shoulder of the guy punching him would have been more exciting. All I know is these banal, repetitious use of medium shots detach me from the story, not engage me. At least with an American comic like Batman or a Japanese manga like Dragonball have engaging fight scenes shown from different angles and viewpoints.
Most of the "Ligne claire" style comics are made for children. The "banal-ness" or bland nature of the shots actually make it more enjoyable for children. I started to read Tintin when I was 5 and loved it until I hit adolescence. I also liked Archie comics during my early teens. I started to appreciate Batman or Manga only after I turned 15.

It's on NetFlix so I'll give it another try but the with all that activity going on and I still didn't get excited by the story itself. Eh...
