Host can be annoying

I occasionally watch this show, being a fan of history and tunnels and mystery. But the host (the current guy, Don) irks me the way he likes to push ahead of his guide, like when they're going through a doorway. He also likes to film himself explaining something rather than the guide. Part of it seems like he's genuinely excited about what he's doing, but it also seems like he has a bit of an ego. Other than that, I think he does a good job hosting.

For awhile, I wondered if the original host got hair plugs. Wasn't the first guy balding? They seemed so similar otherwise that it threw me. (Infrequent viewer, as I said.)

I think I like the first host Eric Geller better, Don seems to be "the take control" kind of guy. It may take a few more episodes to warm up to Don.
I wonder why they switched hosts??? Seems like a dream job!

I just stared watching this series from Ep 1, currently up to New York. I can't belive they got rid of the host Eric, he seems pretty good and enthusiatic. I hope the other guy is as good

Don is great. Eric was way too hyper and his voice was annoying.

I had nothing against Wildman, I think he did an excellent job, he always struck me as he enjoyed the series at least most of it.

But I do think Geller absolutely loved it, I could relate more to his reactions, I know I would be absolutely blown away & giddy as a school girl if I ever got the opportunity to go into the places he did.

Even the more mundane places I've seen where tourists are allowed to go, I got that total blood rush to the head where it's impossible to stop smiling. That's kind of what Geller did. I can totally understand where he was coming from. He was a host I could relate to.

I think the replacement was because of Wildman, though. As much as I loved Geller, I think he got the boot because Wildman was calmer, cooler, & less emotional & ultimately they are going to some pretty tough places.

I can see Wildman having a far easier time with the Vietnam episode than Geller.

I also think Geller was a bigger & that doesn't exactly work for underworld. I got the impression that Wildman could literally fit into more places than Geller.
