Nobody gave this show a chance because much like "Baby Bob", basing a show around a stupid commercial idea, is just a horrible idea. However, one day I watched this because I had nothing else to watch, it was Sunday, and I was hungover. It was actually pretty funny. The premise is laughably implausible and ignorant, but the material and the actors playing the cavemen were very fresh and entertaining. Some of the actors are notable and have gone on to star in very good comedies similar to this one (most notably "The League" on FX). If stinkers like "Two and a Half Men" can become so wildly popular, this is definitely a show that people should have been more receptive to. And yes, "Two and a Half Men" is quite possibly one of the worst televions shows ever to become popular.

I run from the room as soon as I hear someone watching 2 and a 1/2 Men. That theme song alone will drive you bat$hit.

If you liked Cavemen, you may want to look for Modern Family and HBO's The Life and Times of Tim.

In summary "HORRIBLE CONCEPT, surpisingly well-written and well-acted execution". Thus never to be recognized as great, except for open-minded folks who actually want to be challenged by their TV comedy.

imo Arrested Development or Curb Your Enthusiasm fans would "get it", but "According To Jim" folks wouldn't... which is funny cuz I think the concept was marketed more for the ATJ type of audience :lol:

Yeah, and I love CYE, while detesting According to Jim. Another close show is Modern Family and The Life and Times of Tim.

CYE is probably the best comedy on TV, along with Sunny in Philly. Although community and modern family are really well done as well.

But I also agree about this show. Nobody saw it because it's based on stupid commercials. But I saw a promo when it came out that looked kinda funny so I gave it a chance.

Glad I did. Turned out to be well written with smart back and forth banter, well drawn characters, and some truly funny gags. Throw in some pretty good comedian actors and some good cameos, and this was WAY better than people gave it credit for. Oh well, thank god for torrents...

Interesting. I can't stand Curb, but I absolutely love Arrested Development and I actually did like Cavemen. Oh well.
