Anybody else think the kiss between colee and tk was random?

Like maybe Michael Pena just wanted to kiss Rachel MCadams and found the perfect opportunity in THAT scene, i mean look at her face as they're kissing, she just has this awkward look .

reply

Well I don't think it was Rachel who was looking awkward, it was her character. As Colee said "that was a bit forward". She just wasn't expecting it. I think TK really started to having feelings for Colee, and he wanted to show her some affection, so he kissed her, but not in a sexual way. It's just one of those awkward scenarios that so many people have. I liked that scene.

Enid:Oh my God. He just ordered a giant glass of milk.
Josh:That's a vanilla milkshake.

Haha, it was obvious TK started to develop feelings for Colee. At first, he was saying she had no skills, and that she had to step up her game etc. Then when he helped her, and she was telling him not to lie to his girlfriend, he learnt something from her . I felt the sexual tension between their characters, and I loved that scene!

reply

Yeah, I thought they had great chemistry! Like when they were dancing and later in the bedroom together both listening through the wall and giggling. There were serious sparks between them when he was stitching up her leg too.

I loved that scene too! So understated but so sweet. I love Colee's face after when she says "That was forward..." and TK just looks at her.

TK and Colee were def. one of my fave movie (almost) couples.

There was obvious sexual tensions! He got hard on her during the tornado, and I think the reason he broke up with hi fiance was to be with Colee. I think the open ending set up the idea of them having a relationship.

reply

It was obvious Colee didn't like him in that way.

reply

Really? I got the opposite impression - it seemed to me that she liked him a lot that way.

She asked him to dance, and looked like she had a bit of a crush when they danced together. Then, when she hooked him up with the prostitutes at the park, she gazed after him looking sad (but perked up when he left quickly and offered to go with him to get something to eat). Plus, at the end, she seemed to hold eye contact with him for longer than usual when discussing where they were being sent, then turned to Cheaver.

i agree. I thought Colee had a bit of a crush on TK. I felt like it was what they were trying to get at. I mean a little adventure does bring some people together. They shared a lot of moments. I definitely think they shared something.

reply

Was it not implied that she did like him when he went into the trailer with the hooker and Tim Robbins character noticed her facial expressoin and said "No good deed goes unpunished"? This was my take on that line anyways.

reply

I definitely assumed she liked him. they would be such a cute couple!

Also at the Army check-in right before the march to the plane, where he says that he no longer has a fiance, and she looks at him trying not to smile but can't help it. That was great acting and an obvious way some people feel when things go their way.

Colee obviously liked him that way!!! She was so into him!

I can't go to jail. Look at me, I'll get raped like crazy.

I was glad he kissed her because you could tell he started growing feelings for her.

reply

I really liked them together! Every time they shared a moment, you could almost see things heating up more. The way they looked at each other, going from practically hating one another at the beginning to being friends at the end, the way they talked, and of course the way Colee lit up when TK said he didn't have a fiance anymore. I so wanted the movie to continue after they got on the plane for something to get stirred between them!

reply

Yes, but Collee was not interested or capable of being interested. She is a very complex character.

How did I miss that? When did they kiss? I know during the tornado in the storm drain, they held each other close and you could tell they were have "responses" to each other, but I did not see a kiss there?

reply

I remember watching that scene in the movie on demand but it wasn't included in the DVD! Is that the same for anyone else?

reply

The CHARACTER was awkward, not Rachel...

... but no; I thought they were the closest people in the movie... He dresses her wound, they dance together, she goes out of her way to try and solve his 'problem', and when they're cuddled together during the storm, it works.

It was obvious there was SOME feeling between them, even if it wasn't mutual - so it makes sense that a pass would be made, somewhere along the line.
