I am still stuck in the book because I don't really like reading and I keep reading like 40 pages then going months not getting back to it. lol.

Anyway I didn't like this movie as much as the first two because it seemed to have pacing issues. This is one of those movies I think should have been longer where the scenes wouldn't have seemed so rushed. It seemed like they were only on the ship for like 2 minutes between each stop and that it rushed into everything.

I still liked it though.

That were one of my concers with the movie to begin with. The pacing was somewhat muddled.

While the movie wasn't bad, it was the weakest out of the trio. Mostly because it dragged at some parts and it was overall sappier (which hampered Prince Caspian as well).

But I still take the Narnia films over the BBC series.

People who dislike this movie probably do so for the same reasons as someone might dislike The Hobbit movies.

This film takes a beloved classic known to many people and significantly changes the plot. The first half is quite faithful, the latter half changes things a lot. It also adds a rather conventional "evil villain" sub-plot when perhaps the true heart of the novel lies in self-discovery and maybe religious overtones.

Personally, I enjoyed the film. It could have been better and more faithful, but it was better than the BBC version, for me.

I agree that the pacing seemed a bit quick. However, there was a deleted scene that alluded to the extended amount of time that was spent sailing on the boat. It was cut (possibly to cut down on run time = save money). I thought it was a mistake.

Some people were upset about the deviations, but I was ok with most of them. My main concern was that the script felt a bit clumsy in the execution. I didn't mind the addition of Gael, but felt that it wasn't executed properly. The addition of the devouring green mist was a bit cringe worthy if you are familiar with the book, but I was more concerned about the execution of the plot, than the fact that they changed it. Overall, I'm happy with the movie, although if I was a producer, my final product would have been different.
