Brandon T. Jackson tried to act like Chris Tucker

i liked him as an actor but it felt like he was trying to act like smokey from Friday, it ruined the movie for me because it felt like he was trying too hard.

Lol that was the same thing I was thinking, he had a striking resemblance of Smokey....I wonder if Ice Cube intended him to do so...

I didn't think he acted like Smokey at all. He acts the same as he does in all the other movies he's been in like Perry Jackson and the Olympians and Tropic Thunder. However it was very obvious that Ice Cube was trying to parallel this movie off of the Friday movies formula with all the typical elements (two best friends trying to stay out of trouble, love interest, bully.) Besides, Friday is an iconic comedy in the black community so all of those characters are pretty archetypical.

i noticed this by the way he looked. he wore his black had just like smokey did, and instead of the black t-shirt, he had on a black beater instead. oh yeah, and how he came in kevin's room. kinda like the same way smokey busted through craig's window

He doesn't look like Chris Tucker man. Aside from them being both African American men, they don't look a drop alike.

Yam thought the same thing! And ICE CUBE was pretty much BOW BOW character! Could name 5 similar characters! Ya your right.
