What if you actually won?

I play but wait till cash option is $100 million. Cash option of course, Why pay max taxes for 26 years on returns that barely beat inflation?
Verify that I did win.
Hire cpa, lawyer(tax ,estate both?) and a fee-based cfp.
Put $750,000 - $1 million in a seperate CDARS accopunt. that will be my Wheww! I won money initial expence money( car, house ,vacation, etc.) and to pay them. Was gonna say $500,000 but they might cost me more than I assume.
Then tell him\her to invest in bonds ,blue chip stocks etc. mostly relativly safe investments (yes risk is involved with all of them) to get ~10% returns each year.
Then put myself on a salary of $50,000-$100,000 a year to be put in the seperate CDARS account and roll rest back in investments. Never touch principal and watch it grow.
Thats my plan how about yall?

i'm same way BR, i wait till at least 100 MILLION.

but some times my family and i "without telling another"we went to play it even at just a lil 20 mere million. it is all about luck, really is,imo i would save it,invest in stock and bonds, cds, mutual funds EVERYTHING worth something 'just in case, you never know"and buy a big (not mansion but nice spacious home for me and kids age 21,16,19.)That is it
and share with family...
Love this movie, well most of it,some silly but pretty much real and yet it got a low rating.

i have this movie on now IMO" most of it is a riot. the part on right now where bow wow kevin realize he won love LORETTA DEVINE so funnie.

Huh, I forgot about this thread. I disagree, having $100 million fall in your bank account doesn't change you, it just gives you the freedom to explore your impulses good or bad.

If I ever won a big lottery score, which I never will because I don't play, but if I did, the first thing I would do is hire a lawyer and a financial planner, then I'd figure it out from there. Part would go to paying off my mortage, part would go to charity, part would go to setting up a college fund for my kids, but my ultimate goal would be to invest the majority of it so that I could live off the interest for the rest of my life.

The trouble with this scenario is that once you win a $100,000,000.00 dollars you are no longer the same person. You become that 'Filthy Rich' person that everyone who has little money dislikes. If you give your friends a hand-out they will spend that and return for more, if you don't ante-up they will hate you. If you give money to charities the directors of the charities will buy new Rolls-Royces, Cadillacs etc. You will have all your relatives that never liked you turning up full of love and family charts. The only answer is to move away, change your name, get rich friends and start a new life. OK call me a cynic if you like, but don't say I did not warn you.

Get lots of Ferraris and a helicopter and a big mansion and gold jewelry, of course.
