Felt like a Canadian movie

It had all the hallmarks of one:

Low budget used badly so that the film somehow looks even cheaper than it is, amateurish camera work, over-written plot driven script with little or no sympathy for whether or not the characters' actions fit into it, and over-acting by people who were miscast anyway.

What a waste.

I guess it's a matter of taste. I'm German and I can relate better to Canadian movies than American ones. Canadian films are usually about every day things that people have to deal with whereas American films are always about spectacular, out of the ordinary events like a heist or a murder or ghosts or super cops. Canadian movies address every day events usually that almost anyone can relate to.

Canadian, or maybe Scandinavian. Certainly too thoughtful to be American.
