What I Dislike About This Show

The two things I dislike about this show are: the name, and their format.

Sure, Room 401 sounds cool, and well, I do like the name, that is not the problem, but, what does it mean?

Also, I do not like how they just show the prank, the end it. I wish the host would say this person was set up by this friend (like Scare Tactics), and then show the aftermath, of how it is revealed to them that it is a prank, etc.

Oh, and I often find myself confused by the ends of posts until I realize I'm reading a signature.

yeah, they should tell them afterwords. and they shouldn't do a commercial after each one!!!!

reply

I don't mind the name but I agree with your second point.

reply

I agree with you 100%.
The name sounds like a rip off of the movie "1408."
And I wish they revealed the prank to the people at the end.

reply

actually the name revolves around the room Houdini (sp?) died in and how it is bad luck or w/e for magicians

yeah i agree, but hey it makes it different i guess...

reply

Oh ok, oops I didn't know that. Thanks for explaining.

reply

Yeah, if you pause during the title sequence, it tells a story about how Houdini went on his last performance knowing he was sick, and was transported to hospital room 401, where he died taking his secrets to the grave or w.e

But i completely agree with you, Because this show doesn't show the peoples reactions, it just goes by to fast. I also hate how it has commercials after every single prank. I just watch it to see what the jokes they are playing actually are. Im semi interested in the taxi cab one, but thats all really.

I was sooo looking forward to this show. But its kinda disapointing... I was all syched about the pranks. But was left in aww because they didn't show the reactions. I would be sooo much better. The pranks are already better than scare tactics.

First Set As the aging illusionist took the stage for what would be his last performance, he knew he was too sick to go on

Second Set The audience had no idea the man in front of them who had spent a lifetime faking his own death, was now actually in the throes of death...

Third Set As the curtain fell on his final illusion, he was rushed to Detroit's Grace Hospital... it would be the first time in his career that he didn't return for an encore.

Fourth Set Four days later, in room 401, he was pronounced dead.

Final set And with his passing a lifetime's worth of illusions vanished, forever locked away in room 401.

really?? i find it more mysterious that they don't show what happened. otherwise, it's just like any other prank show. this makes it more interesting and freaky.

reply

than the show with the head in the jar the acted like he wasent freaked out like neones gonna be cool with a tlking head that ticked me off they should hire better actors to make the victim real scared like on scare tactics

reply

I kindof like how they dont show the reactions, i mean it's pretty obvious what they are going to do and its going to be revealed to them how it happened.

reply

I actually like how they don't show the reactions/aftermath. It sets itself apart from the other "prank shows". This show is about illusions. It's suppose to be creepy, not just funny. I think not showing the aftermath makes it more creepy.

KIRK: Sweat is the curse of the b-boy. Mos Def. So, are you feeling better?

reply

I think the same thing.. Watching peoples reactions to revealing a prank is half the fun.

Showing the aftermath i wreckon makes the show more comedic, by not showing it it gives it a more darker ending
