subtitles and download.

One reviewer from Finnland wrote

"The only real problem as I am writing this is that it seems to be impossible to get one's hands on non-German language versions (I mean subtitled, not dubbed, which should be defined a crime against humanity). However, if you speak even tourist Deutsch, have a look at this series. You cannot lose more than a few euros and six times fifteen minutes of your time."

I think this is complicated to achieve, since Ijon and the Alians speak with a funny east-european (polish?) accent, with a lot of wordplays. I don't think it's easy to find a translator who can map this to English.

Even me from time to time I'd like to have German subtitles, just to understand whats going on.

BTW: you don't need to buy the DVD, the complete series is free for download:

Yeah, I understand that this series could be extremely difficult to watch for foreigners - even ones with good German knowledge.

But applying English subtitles would be an extreme amount of work, since the original DVD doesn't even have German subtitles for synchronisation. So you had to enter all the timings yourself for a length of 90 minutes!

They only offer the "Making of" and the 2nd episode "Planet der Reserven" online.

But considering, that you can now buy the CD for as low as 5.99 Euro (!!!), you really can't do anything wrong with buying it. Even more, you support the developers, who can really use the money, since it is a very small team.

Yeah, but with subtitles this could be a hit in the international community of Hitchhiker fans AND Lem fans!

Excellent English subtitles for each episode. Someone clearly engaged in a true labor of love to do this. As a longtime Stanislaw Lem fan (in English translations), I am very grateful.

And the show is fabulous.
