Crappy Ending

They have sex and repair their marriage......

Anyway I think it is insane that the mother signed off that her 17 year old daughter could get married. I would never sign an agreement allowing my teenager to marry when you already know it isn't the best decision. At least if she was 18, the parents knew they really had limited say since she is an adult.

What was up with the little sister too? She was supposed to be 14, but looked like a 9 year old trying to look 14.

In retrospect I think the odds of a marriage between 2 teens would have been higher if they were at the same stage of their life. He entered the blue collar working world, while she was having fun at Harvard (almost too much fine if you ask me...). It is hard for adults to go through being at different stages of life, but for teenagers it is even more difficult. Regardless of how "mature" you might be, think about stages of human development (I have a MS in Psychology, not joking). You really are putting yourself up for failure to expect a marriage to work out between people doing entirely different things with their lives especially when he seemed to resent her from the beginning being a student while he was busy at work. This is probably a bad example (long day), but it is like a 14 year old girl dating a guy in his early 20's in college. She might be a very smart girl, but isn't at the same stage as him in life. He is probably balancing work, school, a social scene that is different from a high school scene, and living away from mom and dad.

I read responses on here that she was an ingrate because he was working full time to support her just to be with her. He made that choice. Tons of schools in Boston and I remember his mother saying that the school he got into was 150 miles away. Visiting each other on weekends or even finding an apartment halfway between the 2 could have worked.

I also understand where she is coming from with being disappointed at her husband thinking he just wants to go straight into work. While I don't think going to college makes you smarter than someone who didn't go, getting a higher education has always been a must for me when trying to date. A college education is something I value greatly, and need someone to feel the same about it.

Carter was sexyyyyyyyyyyyyy despite it being that cliche, intellectual/singer/songwriter kind of character. Surprised that he stuck around when he saw her always go back and forth between him and Max.
